We created this webpage to keep you informed about our activities, initiatives, and the actions we are undertaking on your behalf to improve your professional situation, including:

• Better working conditions
• Higher wages
• Greater recognition of our profession

This association was established with the goal of representing all human services counselors throughout the province and ensuring that their voices are heard by the appropriate authorities.

We are determined to achieve meaningful professional recognition and to ensure that we receive what we are entitled to from the government.

Regular meetings with government representatives allow us to maintain a constructive dialogue and advance our concerns and demands. We also work closely with the Coalition for Pay Equity to move our initiatives forward.

Thanks to the hard work accomplished so far, we have achieved significant progress. Here is what we have received since 2020: a $9.23 increase in the hourly wage rate, representing a 49.50% increase (see Appendix A below for details).

However, we cannot continue our efforts without your commitment and support.

We need each and every one of you as members of our association. For only $100 per year — approximately $2 per week, about the price of a coffee — you directly contribute to the strength of our association and to our ability to make our/your voice heard.

During our meetings with government representatives, we need to be able to demonstrate that we are numerous, united, and determined. The more members our association has, the stronger our voice becomes, and the more we can rely on our collective representation to defend our interests. Therefore, the number of members is of the utmost importance.

Your interest, participation, and membership are our STRENGTH in achieving our objectives.

The association is the instrument that allows us to achieve our goals. We must therefore become even more engaged in promoting both pay equity and improved working conditions for workers in our service sector.

No one should have to fight this battle alone.

We all have a role to play. Every member matters, every voice matters, and every membership strengthens our ability to achieve the changes we deserve.
